There are several different program topics to choose from, so you can sign up for multiple weeks and see something different!

The following programs are available at our Belmont lab or can be hosted by your local community or rec program:

Eureka: Inventor's Camp

Inventing means curiosity! Leonardo da Vinci started as an artist and developed many scientific observations that he recorded in his notebooks over the course of his lifetime. Children learn about his many discoveries and try their hand at his experiments, from writing notes backwards, measuring human proportions, building a self-supporting arch bridge to building catapults. The budding inventors bring home their da Vinci designs and devices at the end of the day.

NASA: Journey to Outer Space

Set your future space explorers on a trajectory from our Earth’s atmosphere to the outer reaches of our solar system! This hands-on program for children ages 5-12 will bring them closer to the stars, planets, comets, and more. Learn about living in space, getting away from gravity, looking for space phenomena, and participate in a rocket launch!

Secret Agent Lab

Look out 007—the Mad Science Spy Academy is in session! From decoding messages to metal detectors and night vision, campers will have the opportunity to check out spy equipment and even create their own edible message! Campers will use the Secret Code Breaker to communicate stealthily, like real spies. With the Undercover Observer, campers step into the shoes of a spy in action. The viewer allows them to observe visually which is a key skill that spies need to have! These tools provide a complete undercover kit for campers to take home.

Crazy Chemworks

Shake up a flask of fun in the lab as a junior chemist! These five half-days of chemistry are packed solid with cool reactions. Campers put on some goggles and change liquid to solid and back again. They get to handle laboratory tools, build and break molecules, and pick up some tricks on chemical changes.

Rockin’ Rockets & Aerodynamics

From the earliest flying machines to the first rocket flights, this week long, hands-on program for children ages 6-12 (recommended ages) will allow them to build many different flying devices, see how Newton’s Laws of motion help explain how things move and how rockets fly and show them how amazing our Milky Way is.

Brixology (Ages 7 and up)

Kids will take our enrichment Brixology classes to the next level in this week long school break program. They will not only build, test, modify and re-test a models made with LEGO® bricks, but they will use the engineering skills taught in those activities with other materials. This program engages the children in hands-on engineering, and the principles of design.
